Math - Repeating Patterns

Kelly,  This is a Math AGLI 8th Grade
43105 - The student will recognize repeating patterns in nature, art,
music, or literature. The task is right from the Frameworks of a Time
on Task DCS. The question is should the books used be indicated as a
notation? Thanks. Phyllis

Hi Phyllis,

Thank you for the question. The AGLI and SAT (43105A) has a plural
in it "repeating patterns". The plural can be satisfied in a few
different ways.
For example, using literature with a pattern for a date on a Data
Collection Sheet (as indicated in your e-mail):
1.) the literature has only one pattern, then another date should use
literature with another pattern: in this case indicating the literatures
used would clarify that more than one pattern was assessed; or

2.) one piece of literature has multiple patterns and is used for all
dates of assessment: in this case it would be very helpful if the
literature used was indicated, but is not required as the plural (of
more than one pattern) is taken care of by the use of a single piece of
literature.
In either case, best practice would be to indicate the literature(s)
used for a particular date on a Data Collection Sheet. Please let us
know if you have further questions.
Thank you,
