Hello Kelly:
Could you please confirm that when an AGLI contains a plural, as long as
the worksheets cumulatively cover the required elements the AGLI will
score. Meaning, if in the example of story elements, one worksheet
addresses character only (One question on character) and the second
worksheet addresses setting only (one question on setting), cumulatively the
requirements of the AGLI would be met.
Thank you.
Maureen
Hi Maureen,
Thank you for the question. Please direct your teachers to the
information contained within the manual on Pages 11 & 12 "Task Details
("and," "or," "and/or" statements and plurals) that Must be Considered
for Verifying Evidence" and Page 14 "Verifying Evidence". This should
provide the answer to their question. As far as scoring is concerned,
the Department has not begun to develop scoring materials for the
2010-11 scoring period. Based on past procedures as long as the
verifying evidence meets the assessment task in total the connection can
be made. Please also remind teachers it would be better if he/she
provided the student with more than one question on a piece of verifying
evidence, that only having one question for the student to respond to is
not providing the student with multiple opportunities to demonstrate
his/her knowledge, skills, and understanding. Please let us know if you
have any further questions.
Thank you,
Kelly Ickes
