Home Instruction

Hi Cynthia,Happy New Year.We have a student who is designated home instruction and the LSET tutor wants to know who can sign her OVFs since she is the only person providing services. Can the mother sign, can the mother take the data and the LSET sign the OVF, or does the district need to provide another certified person to observe the tasks? Thanks for a quick response.Janet

Hi Janet,

The Department, in the past, has indicated that the parent could take the student performance data and the teacher act as the observer. The teacher is the one that signs the OVF. The parent, taking the data, would include his or her initials and name with initials on the Data Collection Sheet. We have confirmed that this would again be the scenario and that the guidance from the Department has not changed.

Let us know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
Kelly
