Editing Directions

Hi Kelly,

Is it acceptable to cross out part of the directions on a pre-printed worksheet (and initial the change) prior to giving the worksheet to the student. For instance, in grade 4 science (agli #11107) the task states: “The student will recognize the item that is different from the other items in a given set”. The directions state: “In each row, circle the picture that is different. Color the pictures.” The direction: “Color the pictures” was crossed out and initialed since it was not part of the skill being assessed. Thank you for your assistance.

Hi Elizabeth,

Thank you for the email. It is acceptable for a teacher to modify directions on a worksheet prior to giving it to the student as long as the information is crossed out and initialed by the teacher. In the description below it appears that the change being made follows the administration guidelines. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
Kelly
