Question about dates

Hi Kelly,

I have a question regarding dates for the same content area. One of the teachers we work with tested students in the same content area (ELA) two different AGLIS, but on the same date. In other words she assessed the student in ELA for Key idea reading and writing for the same date...different AGLIs, same content area, different dates. Is this OK?
Thanks,
Kristen

Hi Kristen,
Thank you for the question. There is nothing in the administration guidelines that prevents a teacher for collecting assessment data on the same date for two different AGLIs and tasks within the same content area. This is acceptable. For example, a teacher may collect data on 12-14-09 for the Reading AGLI and the Writing AGLI both within the ELA content area, because the AGLIs and tasks within the content area are specific to the different Required Components. The key is that the information documented on the DSS is student performance specific to the AGLI and assessment task from the last three dates of student performance of that task. Please let us know if you have further questions.
Thank you,
