Math Question - Answer in CAPS

Question came up about Gr. 4 Math AGLI 21109 and SAT 21109c. AGLI text

has tool(s) and SAT text has tools. Confusion because of the (s).

Teacher is using a set of pictures for 1 day of student using measuring
cup and another day using teaspoon. Is this acceptable or does she need
to show more than 1 tool on each day. RESPONSE: THE AGLI HAS PARENTHESES
AROUND THE S, BUT THE SAT IS WRITTEN AS PLURAL--THIS IS JUST FINE.
PLEASE NOTE: THE TEACHER DOES HAVE THE OPTION OF MODIFIYING THE SAT TO
MAKE IT NOT PLURAL. HOWEVER IF THE TEACHER CHOOSES TO LEAVE THE TASK AS
IS, THE VE (IN TOTAL--MEANING BOTH PIECES) MUST STATISFY THE PLURAL; SO,
AS OUTLINED IN YOUR EMAIL, ONE PIECE OF VE CAN SHOW THE STUDENT USING
THE MEASURING CUP AND THE OTHER PIECE OF VE CAN SHOW THE STUDENT USING
THE MEASURING SPOON.
Sounds confusing but I would think she is ok with 1 each day.
