Who can be the teacher

Hi Kelly,
One of my teachers is concerned with the word ‘Teacher’ in the 7th grade ELA AGLI 11106 and 31102.
AGLI 11106: Student will attend to or read an informational text and circle or select a fact about a topic presented by the “teacher”.
AGLI 31102 also refers to ‘text presented by the teacher.’
The question, Can a paraprofessional/classroom aide be considered the teacher for these AGLI’s?
Thanks for your help.
Marilyn

Hi Marilyn,
Thank you for the question. For these AGLIs it is fine for the paraprofessional/classroom aide to conduct the task with the student. The only time the a classroom aide/paraprofessional cannot do something is act as the observer and signer in the case when an Observer Verification Form is being submitted—as outlined in the Administration guidelines. Please let us know if you have any further questions.

Thank you,
