I received this from one of our teachers.
6th grade assessment with a question. The agli is ELA Standard 2 12101
Select and Attend to Literature. For the evidence the teacher used
photo sequences. All three of the photos show the student attending.
For the first photo of the sequence it is dictated as, "Kyle chose a
book and is attending to the beginning of the book." The question
is...,
is writing that he chose a book sufficient enough because the photos
don't show that he chose the book?
Jane
Hi Jane,
Thank you for the email. The Grade 6 ELA AGLI 12101 states 'select and
attend to or read literature'-since the AGLI has an 'and' the task must
also contain both parts of the 'and' and therefore the VE must
demonstrate both parts of the 'and'. The caption description that you
have provided "...chose a book and is attending to the beginning of the
book" seems to provide a clear description on how the student performed
the task. For further information regarding the requirements for
photographs, please see page 17 in the 2008-09 Administration Manual.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Thank you,
Kelly
